Baahubali 2 is still raking in the moolah despite making a lot more crores than people anticipated. When was the last time you heard about an Indian film earning Rs 1000 crore and above? Never, right? Well, never say never! Now the wait is to watch as to who will break the plethora of records that this SS Rajamouli war epic has created. Our bet is that Tubelight, which releases on June 23, might just achieve the feat. But we would like to know if you second our thoughts. Before that, let us tell you as to why we think so.

Salman Khan will be back on the big screen after a year with Tubelight. His last Eid release, Sultan, entered the Rs 300 crore club and made a lot of records in its wake. Obviously, this year similar hopes are pinned on Tubelight as well which is set against the backdrop of a war that has very rarely been portrayed on the big screen. However, the theme of the film is not the war but an affable story about brothers. Plus, it’s a festival release and an Eid release has always worked in Bhai’s favour. Also the reason that it is a Salman film, it will get a great release. While Bajrangi Bhaijaan had released with 4000 screens, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo got 4500 screens, Tubelight might just manage to up its screen count since Baahubali has managed to grab an overwhelming count of 8000 screens in India alone. If that becomes the case, there will be no stopping Salman’s Tubelight. Also, Monday is a holiday which means it will get four days to play on.

We know Baahubali 2 had a lot riding in its favour. Apart from the screen count, it had the huge push of the first film Baahubali: The Beginning, which was roaring success as well. Even Salman Khan’s presence at the theatre a week later couldn’t deplete the first one’s pace in making more money. We feel Tubelight can totally ace it. What do you think?
