While Shah Rukh Khan is all set to open the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) today, Salman Khan will bring down the curtains on the 48th edition of the festival on November 28, 2017. Isn’t it exciting? IFFI has been in the news recently for both good and bad reasons. The organisers recently said, “This edition of the festival will also be presenting films from a record number of women filmmakers in addition to a carefully curated section of restored classics from across the globe, which include the recently completed restorations of Fritz Lang’s ‘Metropolis’ and Tarkovsky’s ‘Sacrifice,’ among some other notable films.”

IFFI has a star-studded line-up for the event with Shah Rukh Khan inaugurating it. Bollywood actors, Shahid Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, will also be present at the inauguration. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan will be applauded as the Indian Film Personality of the Year Award at the event. In a release, the organisers said, “The closing ceremony will be graced by noted actor Salman Khan. This in addition to a galaxy of noted industry professionals, international guests, dignitaries and film celebrities who will attend the festival.” Salman will be joined by a special guest, his co-actor from Kabir Khan’s Tubelight, child artist Matin Rey Tangu ,who made his debut in the same. Talking about the festival, Salman Khan says, “The Festival has a fantastic line-up this year and I look forward to attending the closing ceremony and meeting some of the best names in cinema from across the world.” IFFI begins today and will be on till November 28, 2017 in the beach state of Goa.
