Ventilator is directed by Rajesh Mapuskar and Ashutosh Gowariker will be returning in front of the camera after a long time.
Even though she is too busy with her Hollywood projects, Priyanka Chopra has not forgotten her country and she is willing to venture in other languages as well in India. She had made her debut as a producer in Bhojpuri cinema, which ran into a lot of controversies for not changing how films there are being made. However, we are sure she won’t face any such problems with her first Marathi movie production, Ventilator, which looks to be a very promising film, going by its trailer. Ventilator is directed by Rajesh Mapuskar, who previously made Ferrari ki Sawaari in Bollywood under Vidhu Vinod Chopra production, that had Sharman Joshi and Boman Irani in the lead. Another interesting factor about Ventilator is that Ashutosh Gowariker will be returning in front of the camera after a long time. Interestingly, Ashutosh had directed Priyanka Chopra in What’s Your Rashee. Before becoming a director of an Oscar-nominated film, Ashutosh Gowariker was an actor as well, have done supporting roles in films like Holi, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa and Chamatkar. So it’s really great to see him on screen again.

Okay, let’s talk about the trailer. Ashutosh Gowariker plays a popular director here as well, who learns that one of his relatives is being placed in a hospital ventilator. From thereon, all the relatives arrive at the hospital to be with the ailing man in perhaps his last moments. The trailer shows various interactions of the relatives with each other, ranging from quite comic to some introspecting as well. Introspection comes when one of the ladies bemoan the fact the they are only able to see their family members only when there is a wedding or a funeral. Then there is their fascination with Raja, the director played by Ashutosh Gowariker, so much that he can easily divert a conversation about how the old man feel to his own bald pate. There is also a surprise in the end when Boman Irani appears as a doctor and asks the relatives to show where the kidney is, to much hilarious results.
