Navjot Singh Sidhu to leave The Kapil Sharma Show to concentrate on his party Aawaz-E-Punjab Morcha.
The Kapil Sharma Show is like a family. The show seems incomplete even if one person goes missing from the cast. Navjot Singh Sidhu our own ‘Paaji’ will not be seen laughing on the show anymore.
Sidhu added a lot of extra spark to the show. His laughter was unique and the heart of the show. Paaji’s shayri’s were very famous amongst the female audience and heroines as well. Sidhu loved to charm the girls with his shayri’s and narrated many for actresses like Madhuri Dixit Nene, Parineeti Chopra, Sonakshi Sinha and others. After retirement from cricket, Navjot Singh Sidhu started doing TV commentary for cricket matches, TV shows and politics. Sidhu’s international cricket career lasted from 1983 till 1999. Sidhu is also a motivational speaker and has given many speeches on air. The flamboyant opener was also a Member of Parliament i.e. Rajya Sabha. Earlier, he used to be seen on the popular Indian comedy show, Comedy Nights with Kapil. He moved with Kapil Sharma when the ace comedian decided to start The Kapil Sharma Show on Sony TV. Kapil and Sidhu share a very different bond. They have been together since Kapil’s ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ days. He has supported Kapil throughout. They both share a special both, which is reflected on the show and their chemistry is ON POINT when it comes to comedy. They both belong to the same city, Amritsar.
Earlier there were just rumors that Navjot Singh Sidhu is leaving the show. But now, Navjot Singh Sidhu’s wife, Navjot Kaur has confirmed the news and said “Sidhu will now completely focus on Punjab politics. And that is why he has recorded all the shows till 30th September and has already said goodbye to the cast.”
The cricketer turned politician wants to focus single-mindedly on the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections. Sidhu will reach Amritsar on October 1 and everybody in Amritsar is keen to welcome him. There were tales of how he was going to join the Aam Aadmi Party but that did not materialize.
Navjot Singh Sidhu used to earn Rs 25 crores per year from Kapil Sharma’s show. Recently, Sindhu resigned from the Bharatiya Janta Party and when he was not welcomed by Aam Aadmi Party, he formed his own party, Awaaz-E-Punjab Morcha.
We will surely miss Navjot Singh Sidhu and his shayaris in the show. And all the best to Sidhu for his new role of a politico!
