Apart from Malaysia, Kaala has done phenomenally well in the markets of USA and UAE-GCC market.

Despite of low-key promotions and marketing, Rajinikanth’s Kaala is enjoying phenomenal run at the Malaysian box office. Till now, the Tamil gangster drama has earned Rs 7.61 crore in 7 days. Kaala also became the second-highest opening weekend venture there but failed to beat the collections of Hollywood biggie Jurassic World: The Fallen Kingdom. Apart from Malaysia, Kaala has done phenomenally well in the markets of USA and UAE-GCC market.

Made on the staggering budget of Rs 140 crore, the film has earned Rs 230 crore before its release through satellite and music rights. Interestingly, after the ban, Kaala has become the first Indian release in Saudi Arabia.  Kaala features Rajinikanth as a powerful don living in the slums of Dharavi. With Kaala, Rajinikanth once again proved, why he is known as the king of box office.  The film has collected a staggering amount of Rs 50 crore in the Chennai market alone.

Since there is no big Tamil release in the coming week, Kaala will continue its dominance at the box office. In the film, Eswari Rao essays Rajinikanth’s wife’s role and Huma Qureshi portrays ex-fiancee. The film also stars Nana Patekar, Sampath, Sayaji Shinde and Samuthirakani in pivotal roles. The music of the film is composed by Santhosh Narayanan.
