Varun Dhawan‘s Judwaa 2 is now the second highest grosser of 2017 but that’s not the only feat it has achieved. It is now the highest grossing Hindi film of 2017. It definitely is a shocker that in a year which had two releases of Shah Rukh Khan, one of Salman Khan and one of Akshay Kumar, Varun managed to take the top spot. By earning Rs 137.81 crore. Raees had earned Rs 137.51 crore in its entire run which Judwaa 2 has crossed in just 26 days.
It seems a paradigm shift has happened among the audience. Despite having superstars at the theatres, they are indulging the youngsters who are managing to whet their entertainment appetite. Varun Dhawan’s films are minting money like crazy which says it all. Audience have found a new favourite star and it is VD. He definitely deserves all the praise here because making the remake of a 90s hit film work in today’s time is a tough job. On top of that, he had slipped into Salman Khan’s shoes for Judwaa 2. Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees, till now, was the highest grossing Hindi film of this year. It had released in January this year and managed to stay at the top for 9 months before getting replaced by Varun. Judwaa 2 is still earning and so, you can expect more such amazing numbers soon enough. It has also left Akshay Kumar’s Toilet Ek Prem Katha (Rs 134.22 crore) behind.
