No one could have seen that coming! The premiere of ‘This Is Us’ ended with one major twist, and now everyone wants to know what to come. HollywoodLife.com talked EXCLUSIVELY with Milo Ventimiglia about what’s next for Jack and what the show will be like going forward!

“[Creator] Dan Fogelman has said that we’re going to see Jack and Rebecca through decades,” Milo, 39, told HollywoodLife.com at PaleyFest in Los Angeles. “I think the idea is we’re going to see everything — the all encompassing world of a marriage and parenthood and dealing with the curveballs that get thrown at you every day.”

The ending of the show revealed that Jack (Milo) and Rebecca (Mandy Moore) are the parents of Kevin (Justin Hartley), Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Randall (Sterling K. Brown). After losing one of their triplets, the young couple decided to adopt Randall, after he was abandoned at a fire station by his father. Milo revealed how Jack will be dealing with the tragic loss in the midst of such a happy time.

“You know, there’s loss in life, and I think how does anybody deal with loss in life at the same time as you’ve got two bundles of joy?” he continued. “There’s sweet with the sour. And no matter what, you’ve got to try and make the best of the situation. You’ve got to choose to be happy. You’ve got pain, but you’ve got to choose to be happy.”

Even though Jack and Rebecca’s scenes are all technically flashbacks, these two are still a pivotal force in the present day. All three of their children are at very different points in their lives, and it’s going to be interesting to see how these characters got to where they were. This Is Us airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
