S.S. Rajamouli finally spills the beans on the possibility of the third installment of the Baahubali franchise and we can’t be more excited..
Prabhas and Rana Daggubati‘s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has taken the entire world by storm. Not only has it been declared India’s biggest blockbuster, it has also emerged an all-time No. 1 Indian movie in the United States of America. The fervor is such that people have already started anticipating Baahubali 3 as they do not want an end to the tale of the fictional Mahishmathi kingdom.

Baahubali 2 ended with Mahendra Baahubali (son of Amarendra Baahubali) becoming the king of Mahishmati. But it was a child’s voice over during the end credits that got fans guessing about a third installment. Speaking to Variety ahead of a sold-out screening at the British Film Institute in London, SS Rajamouli described the voice over as “a fun thing for the fans.”

When asked about Baahubali 3, the director said, “Because we have the market and if we made a film for the market without having a compelling story, that would not be honest filmmaking. But who knows, if my father comes up with a compelling story, like he did before, then there is no stopping, we can always make it.”

To end all the conjecture we dug out Rajamouli’s facebook, where he confirmed the news back in 2015. ‘Baahubali 3’ is definitely happening, he asserted. He revealed that it won’t be a continuation of the same story, but it will be something much bigger!

Apart from Baahubali 3, Rajamouli’s name is also associated with Mahabharata. When asked to comment on the same, he said, “’Mahabharata’ I want to do, but ten years down the line, not now.”

SS Rajamouli’s father,K. V. Vijayendra Prasad, who has written more than 25 brilliant scripts like ‘Baahubali’ and ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, is currently working on Star Plus’s upcoming show Aarambh. Well we do not know whether it’s too early to expect Baahubali 3, but we definitely have our fingers crossed!
