Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor‘s Padmaavat (formerly titled Padmavati) has set the cash registers ringing ever since it released on January 25. The movie has raked in Rs 83 crore in three days and has been unstoppable at the domestic box office. And now, according to latest trade reports, the film has raked in another Rs 30 crore on day 4 to take its overall box office tally to Rs 113 crore. Being a Sunday, we always knew the film would see an upward trend and it did just that. The extended weekend, the fantastic pre release buzz, the engaging storyline, good reviews and the tremendous word of mouth publicity has helped the movie collect such a fantastic amount.
With that, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor have got some new records for themselves. Padmaavat will be Ranveer’s highest opening weekend grosser as well as his fastest Rs 100 crore film. Shahid will also get his first Rs 100 crore film and his highest opening weekend grosser ever. It will also be Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s fastest Rs 100 crore film. But not just the box office success, the makers will also be happy about the response the film has got. Everyone has been praising the film, its larger than life canvas, the intense action sequences and much more.
