One of the most popular Indian chat shows, Koffee With Karan, by film-maker Karan Johar is set to be back and with a lot of surprises. The channel officials are pulling out all stops to ensure it’s a “cracker” of a season packed with surprises. While the director had previously announced on social media that he will be back on the small screen as the host of a new season of the show, he had also asked his fans to have some patience before playing the guessing game on who will be the first guest and what’s the line up of the show. “We are working hard to ensure that we live up to the hype and are confident that with the guest-list and all the new surprises planned, it’s going to be yet another cracker of a season,” a Star India spokesperson said in a statement.
The official also said that, “the viewers can’t get enough of the show and it is pretty evident from all the excitement, buzz and conversations around the season even before we’ve officially announced it”. In its past seasons, the show has been graced by a string of A-list actors including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Rani Mukerji, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Preity Zinta, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Gurinder Chadha, Farah Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, Alia Bhatt and more at their candid best. Earlier, it was speculated that Pakistani actor Fawad Khan would be the first guest on the chat show. But Karan has asked all the eager fans to wait for a formal announcement. Koffee with Karan has been one of the most loved celebrity talk shows in India after Rendezvous with Simi Garewal. Though actors have a fun time at the show with Karan’s famous Rapid Fire round that gets them the gift hamper, the show is also known to stir quite the controversy. It was one place where actors spoke about or rather bitched about other actors. Viewers loved all the steamy gossip and we can’t wait for the show to return to the television.
