The Disco King of Bollywood Bappi Lahiri turned 65 today. The veteran composer-singer has given us lots of foot-tapping songs in his career of over four decades. Bappi Lahiri has composed memorable songs in films like Wardat, Disco Dancer, Namak Halaal, Dance Dance, Commando, Gang Leader, Sailaab, Sharaabi and others. The legendary music director has revolutionized the Bollywood music with his disco beats. Apart from Disco king, Bappi Da is also called Gold king for his affection towards the gold jewellery.

Bappi Lahiri holds the Guinness Book of World Records for recording over 180 songs for 33 films in 1986. In fact, after R. D. Burman, all Bollywood hit songs are recreated from Bappi Lahiri’s compositions. In 2012, the composer had also won GIMA award for Ooh La La from Dirty Picture.
