Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar has been invited for International Yoga Day Celebrations at the United Nations.

The invite to the filmmaker was extended as the special Guest of Honour for the First International Yoga Day Celebration. The celebration will be held in the presence of UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon and India’s External Affairs Minister Ms. Sushma Swaraj along with Spiritual Guru Sri Sri Ravishanker. Ambassadors of 193 member countries are also likely to attend the function

Madhur Bhandarkar will also speak on the special occasion at the UN Premises. This special recognition can be seen as a mark of appreciation for his immense contribution to Indian Cinema. The celebration marks it’s unique significance at global stage as Yoga Day will be celebrated in all 193 UN Member countries including 47 OIC, Islamic Nations, by the Indian Missions.

Mr. Bandarkar will also accompany Ms. Sushma Swaraj at the Times Square immediately after the UN celebrations to address the 30000 strong crowd gathered there.

The filmmaker who himself believes in living a healthy life is happy to be part of such a prestigious event.
