Sony TV and in fact, India TV’s longest running show CID will bid adieu to its loyal fans after being on air for a glorious 21 years. The series has an ardent fan following across all ages and as a result, the reports of its closure has come as a jolt for many. While, channel representatives and a certain part of media are stating that the program will return after a brief hiatus, we have heard that the character and the actors won’t. BollywoodLife got a chance to speak to CID’s face Shivaji Satam, who portrays ACP Pradyuman, one of the most iconic characters on Indian TV.

Satam, 68, is currently shooting for his upcoming Marathi film. Due to strenuous network connections, we couldn’t speak at length. When asked about the show being pulled off, the artist stated, “It’s a channel’s prerogative, our opinions don’t matter. It is up to the channel whether to carry it on or not!” The actor has been part of the series since its inception, except mid-way he left the show, only to return, “It is obviously sad, who wouldn’t. And if you know somebody for 21 years, it’s like losing a friend after a long time,” the actor concluded.

Well, emotions rightly put into words! The detective series as of October 21, has completed 1,546 episodes. The only silver lining amidst the reports are that it is just a seasonal break and the series would soon return after 2-3 months. Although the return of its popular characters still has a question mark. The series is produced by B.P. Singh and Pradeep Uppoor.

Apparently, Sony TV’s iconic horror drama Aahat will return and might replace the series. CID will air its last episode on October 27, 2018.
