Just out of Toilet – Ek Prem Katha success, we caught up with Bhumi Pednekar while she was amidst the promotions of her upcoming film Shubh Mangal Savdhan. The actress won us over with her candid confessions. We totally fell for her unabashed attitude when we quizzed the actress about her sense of humour, she said, “I think I’m a fun person. I’m not somebody who’s out there to make people laugh, but I think I’m witty and I guess it comes from intelligence. I’m not trying to be pompous, but you know… ”

Here are the excerpts from our fun rapid fire round with the actress, where she confessed her love for Priyanka Chopra and wished Shoojit Sircar had cast her in Deepika Padukone’s Piku.

What’s on your playlist at the moment?

Kanha from my upcoming film Shubh Mangal Savdhan has been on a loop in my car. And Latth Maar from Toilet I’m just obsessed. People are sick and tired of me.

One director you’re dying to work with…

Shimit Amin.

Which hero would you like to romance in your next film?

All of them. I’m not giving you a diplomatic answer, as I told you I’m a very hungry actor. When people ask me which of the Khans and all. I’m like I want to work with all of them.

One recent film you wished you were cast in…

Piku! I loved it. It was one of my favourite films. Actually you know Rang De Basanti and Omkara, either of them would work.

Any actress you look up to?

Priyanka Chopra, I really adore her. I’ve adored her for many years now since she became the Miss India. I think she’s phenomenal. No I haven’t met her. In fact we share our birthday and I’ve had that fan girl vibe with her for very long.
If you were to feature in a biopic, who’d you like to portray?

I would love to play a freedom fighter, some historical character. I also feel our current generation away from it, earlier there were so many films made.

Your Twitter bio about being a future leader made many speculate that you want to enter politics. Are you interested in dabbling with politics?

No I’ll tell you what, I’m very passionate about my country. To me India is a very important aspect of my life. So by future leader I mean I want to contribute to that. But I don’t know how to do it. I’m too young to even know. I’m an actor and I’m here to entertain and through this opportunity I will try and do my best. I don’t think you need to be a politician to be a leader.
