Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay has the top hand over Ranbir Kapoor’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
When Ajay Devgn announced the release of his upcoming Shivaay for October 28 Diwali release, it was the only release. Few months later Karan Johar announced the release date of his upcoming film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil on the same day. And with that announcement started the ugly war between Ajay Devgn and Karan Johar. It only got murkier when a self-proclaimed critic Kamaal R Khan claimed he was team Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and ranted against Ajay’s Shivaay. A lot has been said and done since both the makers released their trailers. Both the trailers were met with a positive response. And the songs of both the films have are doing well too. But, I think that Shivaay will score better than Ae Dil Hai Mushkil at the box office. And here are the five reasons why “I” think Shivaay is gonna be the flavour of the season.
#The trailer
Trailer of Shivaay did the trick. When the trailer of Shivaay released, there were reports of it being a different film than usual action flicks of Bollywood. The trailer left everyone surprised and intrigued including me. The scale it was shot at, the stunning visuals, the action choreography was something we had never seen before in Indian cinema. In fact many American YouTubers hailed its action scenes and trailer, as one of the best they had seen, including Hollywood films. On the other hand trailer of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was also appreciated but I think, it had a been there done that feel to it.
#The reach of the film
Shivaay’s trailer had all the elements of a blockbuster. It had emotions, actions, visuals and various edge of the seat moments in the trailer. A film that will easily work with family audience on the festival of Diwali. On the other side Ae Dil Hai Mushkil seemed like a heavy emotional drama. Also the film looked like the one just for the multiplex audiences and Shivaay has a universal appeal to it.
#The Controversies
With the controversy surrounding Pakistani artistes, Karan Johar found his film in a fix and with people asking for a ban on Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, his film might suffer. On the other hand Shivaay is carrying all round positivity with it.
