The expectations of the audience and industry is sky-high as Rs 200 crore is riding on Padmaavat

Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s Padmaavat is all set to release tomorrow and we can’t wait to witness this magnum opus on the silver screen. The expectations of the audience and industry is sky-high as Rs 200 crore is riding on this mega-budget historical drama. The film is undoubtedly a big deal for the people, who are involved in it like producers, distributors and exhibitors but why it is more important to its lead stars Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor? Here’s our answer

Starting with Shahid Kapoor, the talented actor has received lots of accolades, praise and success but unfortunately, he hasn’t delivered a single Rs 100 crore film in his acting career of around one and a half decade. Even his last release, Rangoon, miserably failed at the box office. However, with Padmaavat, we are expecting Shahid to not only enter the Rs 100 crore club but also the Rs 200 crore club. In fact, trade expert, Amul Mohan, has said that this film will be a game-changer for him and by looking at the reviews which Shahid got for his portrayal, we completely agree with him.
Talking about Deepika Padukone, the actress who plays the central character in Padmaavat, has been a lucky charm for director SLB along with Ranveer Singh. The trio has delivered successful films like Bajirao Mastani and Ram Leela in the past. Despite her last venture, xXx: Return of Xander Cage, which marked her Hollywood debut tanked at the ticket windows, we are expecting the trio to continue their success march with Padmaavat.

Coming to Ranveer Singh, SLB has always extracted the best performance from him. And by looking at the response and audience reaction, it seems like the actor has delivered his best act till date. To prep for this role, the actor had to go an extra-mile and slip into the character of the menacing Alauddin Khilji. Since the actor has given everything for this big project, we can definitely say that Padmaavat is the important film of his life.

By sharing these factors, we think that we have justified our point as to why Padmaavat is currently the need of the hour. But do you think Padmaavat will receive audience’s support at the box office? Share your thoughts in the comment section below…
