The makers of Comedy Nights Bachao Taaza have decided to get rid of the roasting format. The show will most likely witness another revamp.
Krushna Abhishek-Bharti Singh’s Comedy Nights Bachao Taaza has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. First it was discussed for being royally ignored by the biggest stars of Bollywood – Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan, etc for its roast format. Then it was criticised for passing racist remarks on Parched actress Tannishtha Chaterjee. And the latest reason for which it is being talked about is John Abraham storming out of the show over jokes about his previous films.

After being the subject of such immense flak Comedy Nights Bachao Taaza has decided to get rid of its roast comedy format and go for a another revamp. Krushna Abhishek, the face of the show, told a leading daily in a recent interview, “While several celebrities have appreciated the content, a few of them felt offended. We don’t want to irk people further and have decided to tone down the content. I don’t wish to put my relationships at stake for the sake of comedy . We will indulge only in healthy leg pulling. My co-actors are also in favour of this decision.“

Earlier too Krushna had said in a statement that he was planning to tone down the roast format. But the recent turn of events seems to have compelled the makers to completely do away with the format. When asked if this decision will affect the ratings as the roast format was its USP, Krushna says, “I don’t think so. In any case, we can’t spoil relationships for better ratings.”

It seems Krushna has learnt his lesson after John’s episode. Krushna had expressed his repentance in a statement earlier “John and I have known each other for many years now and he is the only Bollywood actor who called me when my father passed away recently. I am really sad that I upset him…”

It’s being also said that the move has been taken in the light of the scheduled guest list. The show is going to be graced by legendary actresses Helen and Bindu and Krushna doesn’t want any mistakes. “We can’t dare roast them. So, we will be indulging in light comedy with them as well as the cast of Wajah Tum Ho with whom we are shooting next,“ Krushna said.
