What happened when Akshay Kumar met Sonali Bendre?
Everyone is heartbroken with the news of Sonali Bendre suffering from high grade cancer. Her statement made us feel even worse as she wrote, “Sometimes, when you least expect it, life throws you a curveball. I have recently been diagnosed with a high grade cancer that has metastised, which we frankly did not see coming. A niggling pain led to some tests, which led to this unexpected diagnosis. My family and close friends have rallied around me, providing the best support system that anyone can ask for. I am very blessed and thankful for each of them.” I mean, how do you even come in terms with this? She was so hale and hearty until last week and suddenly, life decides to test her with such a life-threatening challenge?
The internet has been flooded with get well soon wishes for Sonali with many Bollywood celebrities stepping forward to support Sonali in this tough time. Akshay Kumar however is said to be the first one to have rushed to meet Sonali the minute he got to know that she’s suffering from cancer. Turns out he is in New York right now and considering Sonali too has moved to NY to undergo immediate treatment, he couldn’t resist from meeting her personally and checking on her health.
As Hindustan Times reports, “Akshay met her a couple of days back in New York after hearing of her illness, and spoke to HT, sending his prayers. “I know that Sonali is a fighter. May God help bring her back in the best of health,” It’s really kind of Akshay to have gone to meet Sonali. It’s such people and the good wishes that will now help her pass through this storm. Like how Arjun Kapoor tweeted to Sonali, “Fight that bastard Sonali don’t let it win !!!”
“Godspeed ,love and strength to a true fighter and a solid soul!!!,” wrote Karan in a tweet. “Sending you strength and love!,” wrote Ileana, “This too shall pass. You are an incredible woman with immense strength. We send you all our love,” said Neha Dhupia among many other wishes that have been pouring on Sonali. Much love and strength to this beautiful soul. Please don’t make life so unfair, please?
