Salman Khan’s stylish thriller has taken a monstrous start at the box office

As expected, Salman Khan‘s stylish thriller Race 3 has taken a monstrous start at the box office in the morning shows. The film has registered supreme occupancy in the single-screens of tier 2 and tier 3 cities. Despite being a Eid time, where people don’t go to theaters, the numbers are encouraging and commendable. Our trade expert Akshaye Rathi said, “The occupancy is great since it is the film for the masses. In the mass centers, the occupancy is going upto 70 to 72 per cent, while there are places which are not mass centers, where the occupancy range is around 25 to 40 per cent. The overall average is a healthy figure considering it has a huge screen count and I think it should post a very respectable total today.”

Despite receiving mixed reviews from the critics, our trade expert says that Race will not get affected by reviews since its a massy film and it should beat Avengers: Infinity War and Baaghi 2 to become the biggest opener of the year. “For these kind of films, reviews don’t really matter much because the kind of audience that these kind of films cater to doesn’t prefer reviews.”

So by looking at a thunderous opening, we already think Race 3 will be a huge box office winner. Race 3 is directed by ace choreographer Remo D’Souza and also stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Daisy Shah, Saqib Saleem and Freddy Daruwala in pivotal roles. The film has been shot in Mumbai, Abu Dhabi, and Gulmarg and is produced under the banners of Tips and Salman Khan Films.
